Captain Straw Arrives at the Custom House for Halloween!

October 8, 2017

Come Welcome Captain Straw!

Welcome Captain Scarecrow Straw at the Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport - through Halloween!

Thanks to the highly creative efforts of museum member Lauri Zack, along with assistance from her husband Tom Manion, the museum is the proud host of a very special (and some may say scary) Halloween guest -- Captain "Scarecrow" Straw!

The Pumpkin Captain was enlisted as the museum's entry in the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 16th Annual Scarecrow contest featured at the 2017 Fall Harvest Festival held in Downtown Newburyport on Columbus Day weekend.

Captain Straw now proudly occupies a stately Captain's Chair inside the front entrance lobby of the Custom House Maritime Museum -- and will be happily greeting guests right through Halloween on October 31st!
