How to Enter:

To apply for a spot on the crew, email your name, name of high school and grade, along with a paragraph or two answering the question – Why would you like to sail aboard the tall ship for Newburyport Maritime Days?  Email your entry to:

All entries must be received by 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017.  The crew list will be emailed to all entrants on Saturday May 20th.  Open to high school students in Newburyport and the Greater Newburyport area.  While a positive attitude is essential, no prior sailing experience is required.  There is no cost to students - this experience is fully funded by the educational programs of the Custom House Maritime Museum.

Bus transportation from Newburyport to Gloucester is included.  To make the high tide in Newburyport, this is a very early morning departure.  Buses leave Newburyport on Wednesday, May 24th at 2:00 am to sail from Gloucester at 3:30 am and into Newburyport on the 10:53 am high tide.

Each student who sails, agrees to volunteer for a three hour afternoon weekend shift to help with vessel tours during Newburyport Maritime Days. Parents of no-shows for the sailing or volunteer shift will be billed the full ticket price of $200.

A very limited number of ADULT tickets are available for purchase on the second tall ship – click HERE for details.
