Meet a True Mystery Guest

Mystery Author Edith MaxwellEnjoy a relaxing mid-day, mid-week tea at the historic Custom House Maritime Museum with splendid sandwiches, sumptuous sweets and richly brewed English tea, served along with soothing classical music and enriching cultural and historical insights.

Come and meet Mystery Author Edith Maxwell, a lifelong writer whose first paid published story appeared at age 9. She's made her living writing technical documentation in the software industry, features and essays as a free-lance journalist, edited medical texts and wrote her doctoral dissertation in the field of linguistics. Creating fiction, long or short, is what makes her happiest. These days Edith writes the Quaker Midwife Mysteries and the Local Foods Mysteries, as well as award-winning short crime fiction.

She is active in Sisters in Crime as President of the New England chapter, a member of Mystery Writers of America, long-time member of the Society of Friends (Quaker), the recent past Clerk of Amesbury Friends Meeting -- and on April 11th, a very special guest we'd love you to meet, when she treats us to vignettes of life in late nineteenth-century Amesbury, Massachusetts!

Tickets for TEA #8 on April 11th, 2018 are available by phone, email or at the museum store during open hours:
