Douglas Muir is Principal in the Boston and Needham, Massachusetts law firm of Garrity, Levin and Muir since 1991 where he concentrates his practice in corporate, real estate and estate planning, with a particular emphasis on tax and real estate planning for individuals, closely held businesses and land conservation organizations.
Mr. Muir is also the author of Massachusetts Corporations and Other Business Entities and serves as legal reviewer for Land Conservation Options: A Guide for Massachusetts Landowners, a joint publication of The Trustees of Reservations and Essex County Greenbelt Association. In addition to being a frequent speaker and panelist on topics of land conservation and estate and tax planning, Mr. Muir serves on the the Newburyport Conservation Commission, is a member of the Board of Directors of Historic O’Neil Farm, a working dairy farm in Duxbury, Massachusetts, and an Overseer of Plimoth Plantation.
Doug's career in law provides an ideal perspective from which to understand and appreciate Theophilus Parsons' significant contributions to the formation of our republic.
